How we verify filter compatibility

Our goal is to make a useful first match while keeping the official manufacturer confirmation close at hand. We do not treat appearance, retailer copy, or an AI-generated suggestion as proof of fit.

Methodology updated August 23, 2026
01

Start with the full model

We use the complete refrigerator model, including its final letters and numbers. A suffix can distinguish a production revision that uses a different cartridge.

02

Identify the OEM reference

We associate that model with the manufacturer filter family and part number. The part number is the reference shoppers should compare with the installed cartridge and packaging.

03

Retain an official source

Every match keeps a link to a manufacturer filter finder, parts locator, support article, or product directory so the shopper can repeat the check independently.

04

Show limits clearly

Our guide does not override an owner’s manual, manufacturer update, or a physical mismatch. If the model label, old cartridge and official lookup disagree, shoppers should pause before ordering.

Official resources used in this guide

These are the manufacturer resource types currently associated with our compatibility entries. We use them as editorial references while keeping the shopping journey focused on the matched filter.

  • EveryDrop filter finder

Corrections and updates

Compatibility information can change. If you find a mismatch, include the refrigerator brand, complete model number, current filter part and the manufacturer source in an email to hello@findmywaterfilter.com.

We review corrections before changing a match. We do not accept retailer compensation in exchange for changing compatibility results.
