A practical annual estimate
Using AquaTru's individual-filter prices reviewed on October 16, 2026, buying each stage separately creates an annualized baseline of about $129.83 before tax and shipping. That estimate includes two Pre/Carbon filters at $29.95 each, one VOC Carbon filter at $39.95, and half of the $59.95 RO filter price because the membrane has a two-year published interval.
AquaTru's official one-year pack contains two Pre/Carbon filters plus one VOC Carbon filter. The Amazon pack linked on this page currently contains only one of each, so it is not a complete time-based year by itself. Add the price of another Pre/Carbon filter and half of the RO membrane price when comparing the real annual cost. Prices, subscriptions, sellers, and promotions can change.
| Purchase plan | Annualized calculation | Estimated baseline |
|---|---|---|
| Individual stages | 2 x $29.95 Pre/Carbon + 1 x $39.95 VOC + half of $59.95 RO | About $129.83 per year |
| Amazon two-filter pack | Current pack price + 1 Pre/Carbon + half of the RO price | Check current prices |
| Official one-year pack | Current official pack price + half of the RO price | Check current prices |
Two-year, five-year, and per-gallon planning
Using the same individual-filter prices and published time intervals, the annualized filter baseline is about $259.65 over two years and about $649.13 over five years. Those figures exclude the purifier, tax, shipping, descaling supplies, and price changes.
At 300 gallons of treated water per year, the $129.83 annualized baseline is about 43 cents per gallon for filters alone. This is only a planning example. A household that reaches a gallon limit early or replaces a filter because of water quality will have a different cost.
| Period | Filter-cost baseline | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| 1 year | About $129.83 | Includes half of one RO membrane |
| 2 years | About $259.65 | One full RO replacement allowance |
| 5 years | About $649.13 | Annualized estimate; actual purchase timing is uneven |
| At 300 gallons per year | About $0.43 per gallon | Filters only; purifier and maintenance excluded |
Why the three filters have different costs
The Pre/Carbon filter has the shortest interval at about six months or 300 gallons, so a time-based household plans for two per year. The VOC Carbon filter is listed for one year or 300 gallons. The RO filter is listed for two years or 600 gallons.
Actual replacement dates depend on which limit you reach first and the purifier's indicator. A household with heavy use can reach the gallon rating before the calendar date, while low use does not justify extending a filter beyond current manufacturer guidance.
Compare the packs with individual stages
AquaTru's official one-year pack and the current Amazon pack do not contain the same quantity. The official pack lists two Pre/Carbon filters and one VOC Carbon filter. The linked Amazon pack lists one Pre/Carbon filter and one VOC Carbon filter. Neither includes the RO membrane.
Check the exact quantity shown in the current listing before ordering. For a time-based annual plan, compare the delivered price of two Pre/Carbon filters, one VOC Carbon filter, and half of the RO membrane cost.
- Confirm that the listing says AquaTru Carafe
- Count the included Pre/Carbon filters
- Check whether the RO filter is included
- Compare total delivered price, not only the item price
- Keep the installation date for each stage
- Use the model indicator and gallon limit
Do not buy Classic filters for a Carafe
AquaTru states that Carafe filters are specific to that purifier. Similar stage names do not make Classic, Under Sink, and Carafe cartridges interchangeable.
A wrong cartridge can turn a small price difference into a return or an unusable purchase. Start with the purifier name, then verify the stage and listing.
